a) chance for student to be within state= 1-0.3 =0.7

8 students in state= 0.7 *0.7 *0.7*0.7 *0.7 *0.7*0.7 *0.7=.0576

b) 0.3 *0.3 *0.3*0.3 *0.3 *0.3*0.3 *0.3*0.3=.0001
